Kerstin Palmer, director of business development and investor relations at Affordable Equity Partners, brings more than 10 years of experience in affordable housing finance and community development investments. In her role, she focuses on investor relations, capital formation and the structuring of mission-driven investments that support affordable housing and broader community development initiatives.
Before joining AEP, Kerstin held positions with Huntington Bank and Fifth Third Bank, where she originated, structured and closed community development investments and worked closely with investors, syndicators, developers, CDFIs and housing agencies across the country. Her experience includes Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits and preservation transactions, as well as financial modeling, due diligence, investment committee presentations and coordinating debt and equity execution.
Kerstin is recognized for her strategic perspective, collaborative approach and commitment to advancing high-impact affordable housing developments. She has served in leadership roles with the Affordable Housing Investors Council, including co-chair of the membership committee and treasurer, and has also served on the board and finance committee of National Housing Associates. Kerstin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in community and economic development from Penn State.
