Sam Steelman
Vice President of Legal Affairs
Sam Steelman, vice president of legal affairs, has been with Affordable Equity Partners since 2015. Before joining AEP, Sam built extensive experience in politics, including managing a statewide campaign in 2012.
In his current role, Sam is responsible for overseeing investment fund and property closings. Sam’s team directs the gathering of due diligence and drafting of the various agreements for AEP’s investments, ensuring AEP mitigates risk, protects tax credits and has sufficient safeguards in place to preserve investments. With his team, Sam has closed more than $500 million of investor funds. Drawing on his political background, Sam also works alongside AEP’s government affairs team to help shape legislation for key initiatives.
Sam is a licensed attorney and obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. Outside of work, Sam is an avid golfer who played competitively as an undergraduate and remains heavily involved in politics. Sam and his wife are the proud parents of two wonderful boys.
